Today we analyzed the poetry of Walt Whitman (slides 25-33). Don't forget: tomorrow we will have our slave narratives jigsaw (slides 23-24). Homework: read chapters 11-12 in Huck Finn.
Today we did chapter 5-8 presentations. We then took notes on slave narratives (slides 15-21), and you had reading time for the jigsaw (Douglass reading, Jacobs reading) tomorrow (slides 22-23, questions here). Homework: finish slave narratives reading and questions, read chapters 9-10 in Huck Finn.

Today was our -isms test. Make-ups and test retakes will happen Wednesday next week. If you plan to do either, please email me before Tuesday morning to make arrangements. If you finished, you could start reading Huck Finn, as your weekend homework is to read chapters 1-4 (due Monday).

Today we took quick notes on Transcendentalist (slides 1-15), then had the jigsaw (slide 16-20). "Civil Disobedience" reading and questions; "Self-Reliance" reading and questions.
Today we did our Poe Project Gallery Walk and you completed a story outline sheet (if you were absent, get the notes from a classmate or me).
