Today we took a chapter 11-13 reading quiz (make-ups either during reading time tomorrow, or Wednesday morning). We then did chapter 11-13 presentations. Finally, we had a discussion around Mrs. Dubose and her importance in the story (see slide 8 for the questions). Homework is to read chapters 14-15 for tomorrow.
Chapter Presentations through 13 Today we had chapter 9-10 presentations. I then gave you a reading period. Homework is to read chapters 11-13 for tomorrow. There is a strong chance of a reading quiz tomorrow too.
Today we had chapter 5-8 presentations. We then worked on a character chart (slide 7). Homework is reading chapters 9-10 for tomorrow.
Updated chapter presentations (through chapter 8) We had chapter 3-4 presentations. We then took a quiz on Intro/Extroverts to see where you fall. Finally, the rest of the period was a reading day. Homework is to read TKAM chapters 5-8 for Tuesday. No school Monday for students.
Updated chapter presentations Today I introduced To Kill a Mockingbird (TKAM), and we took some brief notes. I gave chapter presentations for chapters 1-2, and you (in groups of 2-3) signed up to present starting tomorrow. Optional study guide for those wanting more practice with reading comprehension. Homework (not optional!) is to read TKAM chapters 3-4 for tomorrow.

Second step: mixed groups with questions and reflections. Directions can be found on slides 8-10. Homework today: read chapters 1-2 in TKAM for tomorrow.
Today we shared our discussion question from the Lynching Laws in America reading from last night. We then started prep work for the Jim Crow jigsaw we are having tomorrow. You will be reading one of three articles looking at the perspective of Jim Crow laws. You then need to answer the questions on slide 7 as your prep for the jigsaw tomorrow.
