Junior Project: please make sure you check your outline feedback and make any changes. The 4-Level Outline is due 3/21 by 10pm on turnitin.com. Today we took a reading quiz on Act I, then watched the film version of Act I.
Junior Project: make sure you submit the 3-Level Outline (everything but analysis) by tonight at 10pm! Today we finished Act I (if you were not here, make sure you read the act...there is a reading quiz tomorrow). We then talked about Act I (slide 32). We also had work time to finish the Annotation Guide.

Here is the note taking document you are REQUIRED to complete, and the study guide that is OPTIONAL. Here is the PDF version of Act I if you have trouble accessing the online textbook (instructions posted yesterday). If you were absent, make sure you read to from the start of the dialogue on page 141 to page 152, stopping at Putnam's line "I never heard you worried so on this society, Mr. Proctor".
Upcoming Junior Project Date: make sure you upload the research annotation worksheet by Sunday the 12th at 10pm, or have your EasyBib/note cards ready for class on Monday the 13th. Today we talked about the "Why I Wrote The Crucible" reading. We then read "Half-Hanged Mary" (questions attached to end of poem) as a way to see the impact of being accused of being a witch. I gave you some notes, read the poem to you, and then had you work on a document with your group. You and your table group completed the reading questions (if you were absent, you need to do the assignment on your own). Homework is to read the Overture of The Crucible (either attached here, or on my.hrw.com texbook sites pages 138-141...usernames can be found here, directions for the textbook are here).

Today we continued with the confessional poets/50s housewife lesson by looking at what was happening regarding women in the 50s (see slides 22-26). We then created a political cartoon (slides 27-28). Finally, I gave you a writing packet (and went over the packet with this PowerPoint) that covers everything needed to know when writing an essay.
Today we looked at confessional poets and the 1950s housewife. See slides 1-21 for the poems, questions, and 50s housewife ads we will continue with this tomorrow). We also looked at this guide for housewives. Homework: make sure you send your revised thesis by the end of 4th period tomorrow.
