We listened to a podcast, then worked on childhood poetry analysis and writing your own childhood poem (slides 25-28 and pages 4-5 in the Poetry Packet).
Today we listened to a podcast (do not forget to be working on your reviews), and then looked at haiku and limericks, and wrote a partner haiku and limerick (slides 20-24).
Today we worked on Poetry Quick Writes (slides 17-19, and pages 2-3 in the Poetry Packet).
Reminder: literary analysis essay is due SUNDAY at 10pm on turnitin.com (no hard copy needed). Today we practiced personification, onomatopoeia, and simile (slides 8-15), then worked on a poem incorporating the three literary devices (slide 16). The poem is due tomorrow.
Today we listened to a podcast, and then peer edited rough drafts for the essay. We then started our new unit: Poetry, by working on poetry analysis (slides 1-6, and page 1 in the Poetry Packet). The poetry analysis is due 11/14.
